Student Support

Wellington High School has an extensive and responsible network of staff able to assist students settle quickly into their new school and new country. After 40 years of a highly successful international programme staff understand international students' needs.

Wellington High School is a signatory and has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available from us or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website here	Staff ensure the students understand what is expected of them with a thorough orientation programme and through the agreement of behaviour contract which all students sign.	To help international students settle quickly Wellington High students act as KIWI buddies and introduce new students to their own friends and activities so that they quickly adapt to life down under. Both sets of students enjoy the buddy system.
